Paper Machine Operations Expertise

JOE G. RUGGIERO JR.

Joe has over 28 years of experience as a Machine Engineer and Line Supervisor in bleached board operations. He has broad expertise in machine systems including dryer systems, drives, coater operations, and calendering. He was a project engineer in a number of expansions and new machine installations. Joe has BS in Chemistry from Villanova and an MS in Chemical Engineering, John Hopkins University.

WILLIAM J. RILEY (Bill)

Bill is a specialist in coating kitchen operations and in troubleshooting coating formulation related quality issues. He is an ICS Analytical Chemistry graduate; with certifications in Management and Purchasing from UVA and Clemson.

CHARLES S. WINGFIELD (Charlie)

Charlie has over forty six years in the paper industry, including service as Production Manager for the largest coated Bleached Board manufacturer in the world.  He also provided technical service to national account customers, domestic and foreign, and held Management positions in Quality Assurance, Finishing and Loading, Sheeting, Extrusion coating, and as Paper Mill Superintendent. 

MIKE MARZIALE

Mike has over 28 years of industry experience including a number of machine installations and rebuilds. He has served as Mill Manager of fine papers and specialty mills and has supported a wide variety of rebuilds and mill expansion projects in most sectors of the industry. He has held a variety of VP and SVP roles for a major cpated paper producer. His process expertise is in wet end system, headbox operations, coater systems, and profile controls. Mike has a PhD from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute.

RICK BISSHOPP

Rick has over 35 years of experience on Linerboard and Sackkraft paper machines including roles as a shift supervisor and crew leader. He is superb mentor for machine crews and new superivsors. He has provided crew safety and operational training and been involved with mill hiring and training and served as an instructor for Instructor for the NAIT Pulp & Paper Technologist Course (Papermaking Section). Rick is also experienced in Union affairs and held a variety of Union leadership positions earlier in his career.  Rick is an experienced troubleshooter with broad mechanical and process knowledge. Rick is also a Lieutenant Commander in the HCMS Navy.

 

 

 

 

 

LEO MULCAHY

Leo has 29 years of experience in the paper and plastics packaging industries. He has served as Vice President and General Manager of a large plastic packaging operation, Production Manager of a large integrated bleached board mill, and held responsibility for an extrusion and sheeting operations. Over his career, he has also led a wide range of other departments, including product development, technical, quality assurance, environmental and business development.  Leo has Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA.

JESSE H. SCOTT

Jesse has over 47 years of experience in the pulp and paper industry, including 14 years in mill operations and 33 years as a staff engineer for engineering firms.  His operating experience includes fine papers, kraft specialty grades, newsprint, bag, and other specialty grades.  His experience as a staff engineer includes studies, detailed engineering, and checkout / startups of eight new machines (including one grassroots mill), eleven machine rebuilds, and over 25 studies and cost estimates for new mills, machine rebuilds, winder rebuilds, stock preparation rebuilds, recycle fiber systems, broke systems, whitewater systems, vacuum systems, and other machine auxiliary support systems.

T. WAYNE WOLFE

Wayne has over 35 years of industry experience in papermaking including machine supervision. He is our resident expert in machine clothing.

DAVE NEWKIRK

Dave has broad expertise in the design and operation of folding carton board machines and in process innovations. Dave has served as a plant expansion manager for a $1B expansion, Mill Manager, and Paper Mill Superintendent. He has over 35 years of industry experience and his process expertise is in coating and finishing systems.
